Hello. I'm making new work and adding them to the Paintings 2012 section. I'll be adding stuff regularly so check back when you can.

I also finished my A-Z project a while back. I sent the images off to a printer, and hopefully in a few weeks I'll have books available to sell. The book will be 32 pages, 8.5"x11", and yeah. I'll probably get them in two or three weeks.

My next solo show is at Domy Books in Houston on the 24th of March. If you're in Houston you should totally come. Cause I'll more than likely will be there. Things sort of went out of whack cause we had to take our cat to the vet. If you want to help out, buy a print. I'll draw you something. Seriously.

I updated my website a little with newer work. I think it's the first time since June.
Just a few more paintings and drawings, and a page for my A to Z project.

I'm spending the rest of December to work solely on my A to Z. It'll hopefully be done by next year. And I'm going to try to put that into a little book. I have 15 pages done, two more that are penciled in and 9 big blank pages. I started it in February but couldn't get to it cause of two solo shows this year, and then a month long trip to the UK. But now I have a little bit of nothing for a while.

I'm doing the East Bay Zine Fest at the Berkeley City College on Saturday with my friends, Brendan Monroe, and Teppei Ando. Uh, It's like down the street from me so I suckered my friends to do a table with me. You should totally come. It's from 10 to 4.

Hello!
I'm leaving California for the month of November. I get back December 2nd. If you're placing an order either through my web store or through Etsy, your orders will get shipped but you might have to wait a little longer than I'd normally would have things posted. I try doing it three times a week, normally, just cause I need to take a walk each day, but my friend is coming over and probably just every Saturday.

Other news, uh, if you're in Leeds my girlfriend, Marci is having a show at the Leeds College of Art. The opening is this Thursday in the evening. Uh, if you're near there you should stop by.

Uh, I have things in the following shows: 1 11"x14" painting in San Diego at a place called Double Break, 2 8"x10" paintings in a store run by Grumpy Bert at DeKalb Market in Brookyln, NY, 1 8.5"x11" drawing in each of the Domy Books stores in Austin and Houston, TX, 9 little 5"x5" paintings at Flatcolor in Seattle that ends pretty quickly on the 1st, and 2 11"x14" paintings at Buonaccorsi+Agniel Gallery's inaugural show in Providence, RI.

Those are the last shows of the year for me, cause November I can't do anything cause yeah. I'll be away.

I'm in a group show up in Seattle at Flatcolor that opens up this week (Oct 6). I also have two pieces in a group show in Providence, Rhode Island that opens up next week at Buonaccorsi+Agniel (Oct 14). Uh, I'm working on a drawing for a large group show at Domy Books, for the annual Monster Drawing Show. I think my drawing with be in the shop in Houston. It opens, uh, Oct 27, or something like that. When I finish the drawing, I'll probably update and stuff and tell you here.

I got back from the East Coast last night so I'm just now writing my updates.

Northampton is a pretty awesome town. Uh, I didn't have enough time to ship paintings so I ended up bringing them in two boxes. Marci help sized down my boxes so they'd fit the requirements for Jetblue, and apparently if I'm ever going to show at a place where I have to flight out for it, 18"x24" is the ideal size.

I have a show coming up in a few days. It's in Northampton, Massachusetts, so yeah. It's in Western Massachusetts. Lately I've been trying to have more shows outside of my usual spots (which are SF, LA, NYC, and Portland) and yeah. Next year I'm shooting for Houston. I'd like to do Chicago, but I've never been asked, and I've never actually researched it. I think for our our trip to Houston, we're going to double up and try and take the train up to Chicago and fly home from there.

Ok, most of the artwork you can preview here. Just to let you know, I might edit through and might all of them there. There will be about 150 paintings. Uh, if you're worried that the painting you want is going to sell before you get to it, which I double will happen, uh, you can probably e-mail the gallery a little before hand. I don't know.

I probably should have posted this a little earlier. Cause yeah. I don't know anyone in Western Massachusetts, or anyone near Northampton. I was going to make a facebook event invite but I had no one to invite.

Actually it's not really a big deal. It's just been a while since I had an opening and I didn't have anyone to invite but I used to have to go to shows like that all the time.

Uh, other news, I put some drawing up online for sale. I put a new print up here. It's only $10, and you have choice, between blue and pink. I think the pink one's more popular.

I still have to finish 3 paintings. Two of them are 18"x24", which are the largest paintings I have right now. I'm kind of really into grids right now so I haven't ventured to anything really big. I'll hopefully have 6 of the large paintings.

Hello!
The cord to my laptop wore out and isn't working so I haven't been able to upload any of my new paintings, but I thought I'd give a little update of things I'm working on.

I agreed to two solo shows in June, one in Los Angeles and another in Northampton, Massachusetts. That's right, Northampton, Massachusetts. I never met anyone from Western Mass, and it wasn't until a few months ago that I could spell Massachusetts without looking it up, so yeah, it's going to be interesting. So if you're near Northampton, and you like my art, and you have some free time around June 10, then you should make your way there. I'll have a small show of about 90 or so paintings.

Right now I'm in the middle of a lot of painting and when my cord comes in the mail I look forward to scanning them and showing them to you.

Yeah, I discovered my cord was cut at around 6 in the morning after an all nighter, so I just decided I didn't need my laptop for a week. I was going to transfer a few word files to Marci's computer to work on, but then she woke up while I was asleep and tried using Indesign, so now my computer has no life. I could have gone to the apple store but a replacement is $88 after tax. They have Apple knockoffs for $33 but they heat up pretty hot, so I went for the $55 amazon new. I could have gotten it in 3 days but I opted not to pay $50 in shipping.

I guess that's the only disadvantage of having a laptop than having a desktop. I think I'll be okay. Marci's computer is really older. Like older than our relationship. I can't use the new Firefox cause the operating system is so old. I can't even use google doc, which is how I keep track of my paintings in spread sheets. But at least I have Netflix and a PS3. I've been watching a lot of random stuff. I was into Lockdown, and then Gangland. Gangland kind of sucks, cause it gets kind of repetitive. National Geographics is pretty sensational, and it's kind of annoying. It's like a step up from Hard Copy. Then I got into the Young Indiana Jones, which didn't age well and isn't as good as I remembered. There is a pretty awesome episode in the 2nd season involving Terry Jones from Monty Python and Wormtail from the Harry Potter films. Also another episode involving Christopher Lee and De Nomolos from Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. I also watched some weird plant documentary from 1979 with music provided by Stevie Wonder.

This is the painting I made for a benefit show in LA for Relief Efforts in Japan. Uh, I had made the painting for the benefit before the tsunami.

I put two new prints up in the store earlier this month. I would have posted something about it sooner but the whole Japan thing kind of bummed me out. I'm actually kind of surprised how many friends I have who are either from Japan or goes out with someone from Japan, so, yeah it's weird. But yeah, I also don't sit down and count off where all my friends are from.

But yeah. I have two new prints. One is one color and is $15, and the other is two colors on white, with me spraying white paint on top that's $25. They're both silk screens and I had hope to keep them pretty affordable.

By the way, I get my prints done at Tender Loving Empire in Portland, Oregon. Tender Loving Empire is a pretty sweet operation and they're awesome folks.

Pretty sweet. I'm kind of working off and on on my alphabet zine. I'm half way through. Yeah, I might make a book out of it, considering photocopying might be so expensive. But I just really want to run it through a xerox machine. But it's a 28 page 8.5"x11" zine, so the cheapest xerox copies is for !4c, and each page is covered from top to bottom, so yeah it'll take a lot of toner. And 11x17 cardstock is both expensive and hard to find. It would be like a $12 zine, so in the long run it might just be smarter to find a place to mass produce like 500 copies. Whatever. I still have 14 letters to go.

I made my first painting of 2011 and It's mid-February. It's the same image I've been drawing for the past month or so, so yeah.

I had panel with glow in the dark paint on it that I've had for months sitting around so I put the Whatever cat on it.

Yeah, I don't get tired of seeing my stuff glowing in the dark for some strange reason.

My Totes came in the mail yesterday. It's the same image as my t-shirt, but with different colors. Pretty sweet. You can get one here.

I'm still working on that Alphabet Zine, but I probably should take a break from it. I took two weeks off from painting to work on it and to see how far I can get with it, but all I got was 8 letters out of 26. But I also tried doing the hardest letters first, like X, Y, and Z. You can see what I've done so far here.

I made a small batch of ladies t-shirts. You can buy them here. I haven't made shirts in a while. I think this is the second one I've made in three years. If it goes off alright I think I'll try and make more. I don't know.

I'm not used to matching up colors of shirts to colors of ink, but I think I did alright. I found a large image of the shirt color and matched up my drawing to it. It surprisingly came out the way I wanted it to. It's actually kind of amazing that I used to do it for a living back in the day.

I'm going to have totes come in the mail soon, too. They'll be my first totes. I'm kind of excited. And there's going to be a bunch of prints, too. So look out for that.

Yes! I'm not in any new shows for a while. A group show in LA and then that's about it until June. June's going to kill me. Cause I said yes to two solo shows that month. What!? One with be in LA at Giant Robot of course, and the other will be in Northampton, Massachusetts at a place called Foe. And I have like 4 paintings. I should pick up my leftovers from the City. And maybe make some more paintings and some other arty things.

But I'm totally not. Instead I've been drawing stuff for my zine, making pins, and working some photoshop on my ladies computer for a new t-shirt and a tote. I sent off my designs yesterday morning so maybe in two weeks I'll get them in the mail.

This is my list, and if you have something I don't have or something someone else hasn't commented on than it would awesome if you leave a comment. The comment can also be anonymous if you want.

111 Minna Gallery. 111 at 111. I'm one of 111 artist contributing at least one painting. Next Tuesday I'll be participating in Sketch Tuesday, which is an event where you can watch people draw and then buy their sketches.
